You and your sims can now leave the lot!

When they go downtown, comfort and energy decay rates are slower. Fun also decays slower as long as your sim is in a good mood. You do need to keep an eye on their energy though. There are no beds or coffee houses in downtown. I would suggest you have your sim leave their home lot with their needs as high as possible.

Your sims can visit restaurants, shops, bars, and parks. More ideas in the building section below.

One thing you should know, your sim pays for things twice if they go with another sim.

Building
Not only can you build restaurants, shops, bars, and parks, but you can also build arcades, dance clubs, libraries, or even a health spa.

Keep in mind, there's no way to replenish energy when downtown so build accordingly.

I would suggest to make your build, then take your sim to your lot and see how your sims' needs fares. Then change things as needed.

Also consider your sims financial situation. Maybe create some low-cost activities and some high-cost activities.
